Managed WordPress hosting in Canada

Stack Harbor is a Montréal-based managed service provider that hosts and operates WordPress and WooCommerce sites for businesses and agencies, on its own infrastructure in two data centres in Montréal.

For WooCommerce stores, lead-generation sites, publishers and agency-built WordPress that a Canadian business depends on.

Who It's For

A good fit when the site earns money and nobody is on call for it.

Not a Fit

  • A brochure site that can be down for a day without costing anything: shared hosting is cheaper.
  • You want a public price list and self-serve sign-up today.
  • You need a provider that holds its own SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certification.
  • You want to manage the server yourself and only need raw hosting.

A Good Fit

  • WooCommerce stores, lead-generation and membership sites where downtime costs revenue.
  • Canadian organizations that want the site hosted in Canada, in Montréal.
  • Agencies that build WordPress sites and want someone else to run production.
  • Teams with a developer or an agency, but nobody watching the site at night.

What We Run

Hosting and the operations around it.

The exact scope is written into your quote. These are the parts most WordPress engagements include.

  • Hosting in our two Montréal data centres, including eStruxture facilities
  • Environments sized to your traffic, with staging
  • Caching set up for WordPress and WooCommerce

Operations

  • Monitoring that a person reads
  • Core and plugin updates with a rollback path
  • Security hardening and malware response
  • Backup schedule and restore tests, as scoped in your quote

Support

  • Requests through the support desk
  • Senior engineer escalation on Sev-1 incidents
  • A Canadian-resident senior engineering team
  • An account manager you can phone

Projects

  • Migration from your current host, scoped separately
  • Performance work against real user metrics
  • Peak-event planning for campaigns and Black Friday

The SLA Facts

What the service level agreement commits to.

These are the committed terms. The agreement page has the full text, including the other severity levels.

  • Sev-1 Acknowledged Within 15 Minutes

24/7, on plans that include incident coverage. An operator confirms the incident and starts work or escalation; it is not an automated receipt.

  • 99.9% Monthly Uptime

The uptime commitment in the service level agreement, with the service credits it defines.

  • Support Desk, Senior Escalation

Requests go through the support desk. A Sev-1 incident is escalated to a senior engineer. The phone reaches your account manager.

  • Hosted in Montréal

Two Montréal data centres, including eStruxture facilities. Sites placed there are hosted in Canada.

Common Questions

Managed WordPress hosting in Canada: answers.

  • What is managed WordPress hosting?

A provider runs the whole environment behind your site, not only the server: hosting, caching and performance, core and plugin updates with a rollback path, security patching, monitoring that a person reads, and incident response. Plain hosting gives you a server. Managed hosting gives you a team accountable for keeping the site up.

  • Is your WordPress hosting in Canada?

Yes, when the site runs on our infrastructure: two data centres in Montréal, including eStruxture facilities. If you keep the site on AWS or another provider, we can operate it there instead, and it stays where that provider runs it.

  • Does my data stay in Canada?

Workloads placed in Stack Harbor’s Montréal data centres are hosted in Canada. Environments you keep on AWS or another provider stay where that provider runs them. Where backups and any third-party services (a CDN, email delivery) store data is written into your scope, so check those if your residency requirement covers them.

  • What does the SLA commit to?

Sev-1 incidents are acknowledged within 15 minutes, 24/7, on plans that include incident coverage, and the monthly uptime commitment is 99.9%. The full terms are on the service level agreement page.

  • Do you support WooCommerce?

Yes, including stores where checkout is the revenue: cart and checkout performance, the caching WooCommerce needs for logged-in shoppers, and planning ahead of peak events such as Black Friday.

  • Can you move our site from our current host?

Yes. The migration is scoped separately from ongoing hosting, with a cutover plan and a rollback path agreed before any DNS change. If your current host works and you only need operations, we can run the site where it is.

  • Do you host WordPress for agencies?

Yes. The agency keeps the client relationship and the build work; we host and operate the environments, with requests through the support desk and a senior engineer on Sev-1 incidents. White-label and co-managed arrangements are part of our agency partner offer.

  • How much does it cost?

Stack Harbor publishes no prices. Each engagement is scoped to its drivers (sites, traffic, footprint, incident coverage) and gets a fixed quote after a scoping call.

  • Is Stack Harbor SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certified?

No. Stack Harbor holds no SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI DSS or HIPAA certification of its own. The facilities and platforms underneath hold their own attestations, and your auditor makes the determination. The trust page sets out the position in full.
